I’m leaving for parts where the wireless don’t roam (or rather, it would roam if I weren’t too damn cheap to pay for it), so just throwing together some things you might want to check out.
French-Fry Master and South Jersey King of the Geeks, Glenn Walker, talks about the selection of Ben Affleck as the new Bruce Wayne in Zack Snyder’s will-be-here-someday Superman/Batman movie. He reminds those who are screaming about the selection to think back to 1989, when people were up in arms that Mr. Mom was slated to play the Caped Crusader in Tim Burton’s Hollywood altering film. I think the only thing that depresses me is the knowledge that many of the younger screamers are asking, who the hell is Mr. Mom?

Resident Maberry Novel-in-Nine Workshop kook, likely secret agent, and first time novelist Tom Joyce weighs in on the passing of Elmore Leonard. He touches on the doors the late, great Mr. Leonard opened, and the occasional mangy dogs that unfortunately were allowed to wander in. If you get a second, poke around Tom’s blog for a few minutes. If you don’t find something that makes you laugh, I’ll give you your money back.

Tall Tales and Short Stories from South Jersey, the anthology published by the South Jersey Writers Group and including “No Fun Joe”, the laugh-a-minute retrospective on bachelor parties, drunk driving, and death written by yours truly, is now an e-book. If you haven’t bought your copy yet, grab a few. Remember, for every copy we sell a certain percentage goes to the Landbound Orphan Baby Seal Association of Oklahoma. Or don’t buy a copy, and let those poor baby seals suffer, if that’s the way you want to be.

And finally, since my post last week about the joys of being a pop pop garnered TWICE the hits of any of my post since….well since ever. Here’s a random picture of my granddaughter! Enjoy!

I love your blogs. I didn’t know some of the money goes for abandoned baby seals. That’s a great hook to get people to buy the book:)
