Well, I sent my first story out to publication….”Jonesing” is a long, short-story (not quite a novella) about obsession, addiction, and a little demonic possession thrown in for good measure. I sent the first 3500 words to an e-publisher back in January and just got notice that it was forwarded along to a submissions editor and would hear back in 4 – 6 weeks.
I’m going with the belief that the story was read and found good enough to go to the next stage, though I guess it could turn out the 5 week time frame before hearing back was just bureaucracy in action. Think positive!
Next up, I’m rewriting “Faces”, which I first wrote 25 years ago. This one is shorter, so maybe I can submit to a more traditional mag….
